For a lot of people, protesting is a way to express their themselves about a situation and to at least, for the moment, feel like you are doing something. This is not to debate (no pun intended) the effectiveness of protests but rather to point out that it gives people to chance to act.

I believe that Amanda Litman and her organization, Run for Something (https://runforsomething.net/) is the counter, to a degree of what Steve Bannon is doing with protesters on the Right. Her Substack: https://rfsfeelgoodupdates.substack.com/

Great interview and learned a bunch. Thanks.

She has a point & it makes sense. People are set in what they hear & want to hear. It takes a lot to make an impact on a person’s listening.

The only consequence of the Biden-Trump debate for me was simply to terrify me.

Interesting, particularly the discussion about debates. Yep. I see how it doesn't change mines but simply indicates that everyone has their say. The thought that action creates belief--or at least helps form it--is also, interesting. I guess I have lived in small towns and villages where folks did take part--volunteer, etc. Interested in what else can help. Hope is still alive in my house.
