When Reed talked about evangelical MAGA-types gathering at church, it struck me that the church I attend is so radically different. We are progressive people who value social justice and community involvement. We are a diverse group representing a variety of beliefs, yet value our relationships with each other enough to not focus on differences. A number of us have been protesting, calling, writing and canvassing, but respect those who choose not to. I do wonder if churches like this are a too-well-kept secret. I absolutely believe that isolationism is enhancing division, and that many people long for community. They just want a sane, non-hateful version.
