Maybe Rogan can convince Bobby to eat cockroaches and climb cranes and jump from tall buildings. He was pretty good at Fear Factor. Seems prescient now.
First, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Losing a parent is such a sad milestone. But thank you for continuing to find the mental space to inspire us. We finally have what used to be Trump’s trademark: energized rallies. However crazy and convoluted his message, I continued to hear that people wanted to be part of “the movement.” Now that his movement is old, tired and increasingly crazy, we are finally stepping up with the new and improved movement: quality candidates, quality messages and unbelievable energy and enthusiasm. Let’s bring it home! For anyone not yet involved, one option would be “The Union” (jointheunion.us) a pro-democracy group that is helping organize and empower volunteers throughout the nation. You can sign up to get involved in phone banks, canvassing, or writing postcards. I just ordered 200 postcards that will be sent to people not yet registered to vote. The way to win this is to reach out to previously-indifferent or disenfranchised people. This is a campaign for the ages, and I believe they can be reached!
Thank you, Reed for being part of The Union. Question: Should we continue to be concerned about those voters who change from Trump to RFKJ and its effect on the electoral college? It’s the Electoral College that matters, not the popular vote.
"Happy Democrats vote. Unhappy Democrats don’t." That's the election in a nutshell. Now it's time to get Independents and Never-Trumpers on the bandwagon. Kamalmentum...Catch it!
I think exuberance is neither rational nor irrational - like you say, it’s nothing to do with rationality. I also think that the appearance of this exuberant state - right now, and in these circumstances - is entirely rational.
I’m doing absolutely everything I can to get Dems elected up and down the ballot. So sorry to hear about your father. Losing a parent is rough, no matter the circumstances. My very best to you.
I’ll take it! although I disagree that it’s irrational, it’s long awaited, a breath of fresh air, needed after all the doom & gloom, America Bashing from Don the con & the repug-licans. Sure they’re still gonna do it , but some on the other side are seeing them clearer now & see a much better way forward… see the dangers of Project 2025 or ( what does he call his ? Project 47) -doesn’t matter, they’re the same thing.
Reed, I didn't know your dad had passed. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a lovely man on Twitter and he was very proud of you and his grands. May his memory be a blessing.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. May you have the support and endurance you need to carry on without him.
I wonder, in the early days of the 2016 Trump campaign, did any reporters ever ask Republican operatives if they were concerned about the "irrational" exuberance at his rallies, or were they just having too much fun at the circus to be concerned about such things? Do they ever stop and ask the question now, when that irrational exuberance has turned violent and fascistic?
Quick recommendation for your time in Chicago. If you've got a spare hour, check out Capannari Ice Cream in downtown Mount Prospect. It's about 20 minutes from O'Hare and, speaking as a local, very worth it.
Agree the pressure needs to be continually applied to Trump. The more he is on the ropes, the more crazy he gets. His own words become a treasure trove of campaign ads for Harris/Walz. Keep the message simple: he’s old and tired, he’s crazy and unhinged. His time is over.
Had no idea about your dad. I’m so sorry for your loss and mah his memory always be for a blessing.

Still by far and away the best. When I am in DC I may need to find you and give you a hug!!

Reminds me (again) of the importance of enthusiasm. I tend toward by-the-numbers old crankism. This is a good antidote.

Had not heard about your Dad. My sympathies to you and your family. May his memory forever be a blessing.
