My fear is that the “Carville Doctrine” had already taken hold before he suggested the Democrats play dead. (How could you tell the difference?) there isn’t anyone out there explaining what they’d do or why they’re better. The arguments at the state and local levels - normalcy and competence are a perfectly good start. But the initial piece is a mindset: I want to win and I’ll do what it takes to make it happen.
