Listening to a briefing from the Pentagon are minutes I'll never get back, so T.V. is off. Actually, "breaking news" in my village--church is cancelled because church basement is flooded--also travel is not safe because of serious thunderstorms washing things out plus flooding. Just learned that about 6,000 folks are without power. Now the fire whistle is blaring. Water, water, everywhere. That said, take care and safe travels.

This is likely all just performative nonsense to make Trumpy look like a tough guy after an embarrassing week for him. It’s like our war with the Houthis. All Sturm and Drang without a result. It’s my understanding that despite the “ceasefire” agreement with the Houthis shipping in the Red Sea is still way down. What does any of this accomplish other than making Trump feel good?
I would be even more petrified than I already am if i had relatives in one of the military bases located in that part of the world. Sacrificial lambs against an irate hornet’s nest.
